Finding & Joining Rides

This page is meant to give you an idea of what rides will happen over the course of a season. All OWCC rides are listed in the Cyql app. This is where you will see all the most up-to-date details about a ride, confirm attendance, and to ask questions.

Not sure where to begin? Use the Cyql help guide to get started.

Clinics

OWCC Clinics are designed to improve and develop essential group riding skills and overall group dynamics to enhance both performance and enjoyment during rides.

The Clinics are run by Julie Hutsebaut, a registered NCCP Coach.

Overview

For less experienced riders we offer a four session Bike Handling and Group Riding clinic.

Our Group Riding Refresher is a two hour session for people with good bike handling skills, more experience, but needed tips on group riding safety.

If you’re not sure which one of our clinics is right for you?

Bike Handling & Group Riding Clinic | 2025

This clinic stream is designed for new members who may be new to cycling; and are looking to develop their bike handling skills and learn group riding techniques in a supportive, friendly and inclusive environment.

Four sessions: May 10, May 24, May 31, and June 21. Locations will vary.

The Bike Handling portion is designed to enhance riders’ skills in low-speed handling, emergency maneuvers, and foundational bike handling. Riders will learn essential techniques for navigating tight spaces safely, performing emergency stops, and riding effectively in close formation with others.

The Group Riding portion is designed to enhance riders’ efficiency on the road by focusing on key techniques that improve overall performance on recreational rides. Riders will learn how to optimize their pedal stroke, master gear shifting, modulate their cadence while riding with friends and practice various climbing techniques, including seated and standing climbs, to tackle different terrain with confidence.

Registration is $125 per person and capped at 20 participants per clinic

Refresher Group Riding Clinic | 2025

The benefits of riding in a group formation, different formations for different conditions, hand signals, vocal commands, dealing with emergency stops, cornering, hills, hazards, passing, pacing, etiquette and regrouping after a long hill.

This course is a 2 – 2.5 hour clinic, in-person and on roads to ensure as much practice as possible.

Dates: Saturday, May 3rd or Sunday, May 11th

Registration is $25 per person and capped at twelve (12) members per session. We will waitlist members once these dates fill up and have the option to add more of these clinics.
